Paper Shadows 36 x 48 in.
Acrylic and oil pastel on gallery wrapped canvas 36 x 48 x 1.5 in.
I have a fascination with rock-like shapes, influenced by the national parks near my home in Southern California. I enjoy playing with perceptions. This artwork takes normally heavy, solid shapes and makes them light and airy. There is a subtle use of color to give the shapes depth and the impression they are floating. I painted this piece in Palm Springs and found myself inspired by the mid-century colors synonymous with Palm Springs. This is a subtle and calming painting and looks fantastic on a dark wall.
This is acrylic and pastel on stretched canvas and is protected with a UV resistant varnish. It is wired and ready to hang.
